Pride Week Button, 1992

Omaha's Gay, Lesbian, and Bi Pride Week took place from June 13-21, 1992. The year's theme was "Pride = Power." It appears this was the first year "Bi" was included in the title of the week.

The Gay, Lesbian and Bi Pride Parade was at 4 p.m. on June 21, 1992. The parade route began at Turner Park (31st and Farnam Streets), proceeded north on 31st to Dodge Street, south to Douglas Street, east on Douglas to 25th Street, south on 25th to Farnam Street, and west on Farnam Street back to Turner Park. After the parade, a community picnic took place at Turner Park until 8 p.m.

Speakers included Peri Jude Radicec, Deputy Director of the National Gay Lesbian Task Force (sponsored by EAGLE-Omaha), and Susan Koenig, president of the Omaha Chapter of the National Organization for Women from 1990 to 1991.
