1985

The June 1985 edition of The New Voice stated on page 2: "Recently two groups folded in Omaha for lack of interest, and as of now there is no Gay and Lesbian Pride Week Committee to schedule activities for this year's celebration."

However, despite the recent disbanding of groups in Omaha, efforts were made by others to celebrate Gay Pride Week. On June 29, 1985 at 10 p.m., roughly 100 people marched in downtown Omaha, Nebraska from 20th and Howard Street to 16th and Howard Street. This event marked the first ever Gay Pride March in Omaha. Three local news stations covered the event. The experiences of some attendees were also shared in the next month's edition of The New Voice.
