Omaha's Gay Pride Week took place from June 14-June 22, 1986. The Omaha Gay and Lesbian Pride Parade was at 9:30 p.m. on June 22, 1986, with over one hundred people marching. The parade route began at 18th and Jackson Street, marched east to 16th Street, south to Leavenworth Street, west to 18th Street, then north back to Jackson Street. Unlike the 1985 parade, there was little media coverage of the event.

Lincoln's Gay Pride Week took place June 22-June 29, 1986. This included a country-style picnic event on June 28, 1986, located at a cabin near 84th and Old Cheney Road southeast of Lincoln. Several hundred people attended.
