Financial Contributions to Support the Queer Omaha Archives
Financial contributions support the preservation and growth of the Queer Omaha Archives including the conservation needs of the historical material, conducting oral history interviews with community members, public programming, and other activities. Financial contributions to support the Queer Omaha Archives at UNO can be made directly to the Queer Omaha Archives Fund (fund code 01139120) we have established with the University of Nebraska Foundation.
Donating Material to the Queer Omaha Archives
The Queer Omaha Archives collects, preserves, and makes available to the public material documenting the diverse people and organizations of the greater Omaha region and their experiences and work. The types of material the Queer Omaha Archives collects includes any of the following with a local focus:
- Posters & flyers
- Meeting minutes
- Diaries & journals
- Protest signs
- Audio recordings
- Business records
- Oral history interviews
- Ephemera such as tickets, programs, etc.
- Selected memorabilia such as buttons, t-shirts, etc.
In some cases, the Queer Omaha Archives may wish to photograph or scan an item, but not accept the object itself for permanent preservation in the archives.
